In fact, the performance and tuning of the XPS13 9380 is a bit similar to the 2018 version of the MacBook Pro (i7 version, updated bios). This configuration on my hand uses the latest Whiskey Lake eighth-generation i7 8565U processor, 16GB dual-channel LDDR3 2133 memory 512G SSD.
After refreshing the latest BIOS, the performance release of this machine is actually very full, or rather brutal.
In various theoretical tests, it clearly exceeds the i7 8550U of the previous generation 9370. This aspect benefits from the i7-8565U's high frequency limit of 4.6GHz (0.6GHz higher than the i7-8550U). What is the performance improvement brought by this? Take the actual application as an example. Another thing to note is that this time the XPS is more "good" a change, that is, the low frequency of the 8G memory version is also unified to 2133, the previous generation of low frequency memory is 1866.
In the latest Lr and Pr test project, it takes only 2 minutes and 32 seconds to transfer 100 raw pictures. How fast is this performance? The similar test of the i7 8750H of my XPS15 before was 2 minutes and 8 seconds. Although considering the different versions of Lr, this speed is very fast.

Choose memory capacity & pay attention to heat dissipation
When buying XPS13 9380 model configuration, in addition to color and screen resolution, you must also determine the memory capacity. Like the 9370, the 9380 has on-board memory, which cannot be upgraded and expanded, and the nuclear display itself will share memory, so personal recommendations It is best to start with 16GB of memory; the SSD part has only one removable slot, and you can still upgrade it yourself in the future.
The heat dissipation is good. As for the XPS13 9380, it is actually not easy to say a sentence. For example, the official fan control tuning is quiet, so the noise is very low at full load. The size of the radiator is also good.
